    Evo jedne predivne novosti za sve fanove Mopara. Hennessey jos jednom postize nemoguce, ovaj put uspeva da 1.800 kg teskog Challengera na prvoj test voznji ubaci u 11. sekunde na 400 metara. People, we have a new street king. Shelby GT500 KR is owned!

    "Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) is well known for its ability to take fast Mopars-such as the Dodge Viper-and make them go faster. The all-new Challenger SRT8 has just hit the streets with its 6.1L Hemi V-8 and in traditional fashion HPE already has performance upgrade packages available. Despite packing 425 hp, HPE knew that many Dodge Challenger SRT8 buyers would want improved power and performance to make their new hot rods even hotter. Now Challenger owners can have Viper and ZR1-like power in the form of 620bhp and 650 lb-ft (880Nm) of torque.

    HPE offers numerous packages for the new Challenger including naturally-aspirated versions with 500, 530 and 575 horsepower or forced induction applications (either turbocharged or supercharged) producing 600 to 725 horsepower. The most popular package is expected to be the Hennessey HPE600 SC that is now available directly from HPE.

    While HPE set out to improve the all-new Challengers' straight line acceleration, the company also developed track tested upgrades to help improve the car's handling and braking. "The Challenger does a lot of things very well and the factory SRT8 is a great car to start with," said company founder, John Hennessey. "Unfortunately, it's a big car weighing over 1800kg So, while we can't remove 400kg from the car, we can add another 195 hp."

    In early testing a Hennessey Challenger HPE600 Turbo recorded a quarter mile time of 11.9-seconds @ 121 mph on optional Nitto Drag Radial tires with a conservative launch. In addition, the HPE600 also spent time on the Carolina Motorsports Park road course where HPE's suspension upgrades (including KW adjustable coil-over shocks/springs, larger anti-roll bars, and unique bushings) were track tuned. With the significant increase in power and handling, HPE also has available for the Challenger a set of vehicle specific StopTech brakes replete with lightweight rotors.

    Noted below are details of the Hennessey HPE600 Turbo package now available for 2008 – 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 models:

    Hennessey je tuning kuca i njeni modeli se nikako ne mogu porediti sa serijskim Shelby Mustanzima.

    Ako vec hoces o tuningu, evo ti Shelby GT500 koji radi 1/4 mile za 7.6 sekunde.

      koliko hiljada konja to ima>? fastest europe street car koji sa drag radials ide 7.8 ima 1200 ks na 1.3 tone tezine...

      ovo mora da ima bar 1500 ks? ili vishe... i sa ovim gumama to sigurno ne ide...

          7,6 sec? E sad ga bas pretera... Pa za to vreme je neophodan full drag package sa slicks gumama i motorom od 1500+ konja... Taj Mustang sa slike mi deluje kao klasicni GT500, bez ikakvog drag trima...

            Sliku sam skinuo sa jednog Mustang sajta, ne secam se tacno kojeg, i ispod je pisalo da radi 7.6 sekunde na 1/4 mile.

            Kad se bolje pogledaju detalji, 11.9 sec iz auta od 620 hp i nije neko vreme. Roush Stage 3 Drag Pack radi isto vreme sa "samo" 435 hp.

                  definitivno daje potpuno novo znacenje izrazu street legal... te gume na njemu su full slick, nije mi jasno kako sa njima moze na ulicu

                      pa da ali sa street gumama sigurno ne pravi 11 ke... iako je on ovako street legalan... to se uglavnom odnosi na buku i emisiju gasova i neke bezbednosne standarde koje mora da zadovolji...

                        Sa drag paketom opreme i sa slicks gumama Hennessey-jev Challenger bi radio 10-tke all day long! Lepo pise da je paket opreme street, a ne drag. Plus, na videu mozes da vidis da start nije bio bas najsrecniji, i da je ovo bio tek prvi test. Sa malo boljim startom (krace vreme na 60-foot time) i vise proba, ovaj Chally ce 'ladno raditi low 11's. I to nije sve, ovo je tek SRT600 paket, a uskoro nam se pridruzuje i SRT700 paket, koji ce imati 725+ konja i verovatno opusteno prolaziti 400 metara u 10-tim sekundama.

                            Za mene Hennessey nikad nije bio neko ko zna da uradi nesto posebno. Citao sam pricu o njemu i njegovom Grand Cherokee SRT530. Uzeo SRT8, ubacio supercharger u njega i sve ostalo ostavio putpuno stock. I za to naplacuje $16,000. A verovatno ce nesto slicno uraditi i sa Challengerom.

                            Sa dovoljno novca bez problema mozes da napravis bilo koji auto da radi 11-ske na 1/4 mile, a da pri tom ostane street legal.

                            Evo recimo ovaj 1989 Mustang GT 5.0, radi 1/4 mile za 11 sec. A vlasnik ga takodje koristi za svakodnevnu voznju.

                              Ako cemo da pricamo o "uradi sam" tuning-u, onda je i tih 11 sec. smesno. Vecina big blockova iz '60-tih sa pro-street trimom rade 9-tke na 400 metara, a evo neki kao Jim Pranis ulaze i u 8-ice:

                              Automobili koje Hennessey nudi su sa serijskim brojem, legitimno priznati i sa garancijom. "Uradi sam" tuning ne spada ovde, otvorio sam sekciju Pro Touring Muscle Cars i tamo mozemo da raspravljamo o tuningu do mile volje, ali ova tema je vezana za novi Challenger i zamolio bih te da ako vec nemas sta lepo i pametno da kazes o ovom fantasticnom automobilu, onda makar nemoj flame-ovati i ubacivati neke rekla-kazala podatke kao u slucaju onih "7.6 sec."...

                              EDIT: i da si se makar malkice potrudio da procitas topic video bi listu izmena koje je Hennessey uradio na Challengeru... Dakle price o superchargeru su smeshne... procitaj topic!!! Automobil koristi turbo. + izmene na oslanjanju su obilne, kao i na kocionom sistemu!
