Camaro vs. Mustang rivalstvo je 40 godina staro. Ovakav "combo" kao na ovom Camaru, zapravo treba da pomiri obe strane i da "pozajmi" najbolje od istih. Po mnogima ni jedna Mustang karoserija ne moze da se meri sa first gen. Camaro-ima, kao sto i mnogi smatraju da ni jedan Chevy-jev motor nema taj potencijal kao Fordov legendarni 302cid. small block. Ovaj lik je ukombinovao ovo dvoje i dobio pravu zver od automobila. Posto su mu jedino performanse bile u planu, nije mnogo mario sta su sve zadrti fanovi i jednih i drugih pricali, i sta i dalje pricaju... Jel, kako god da okrenes, ovaj automobil prosto pleni paznjom. Plus, koliko automobila je u stanju da nonsalantno razvije 145mph u cetvrtoj?
Ovaj combo (Camarova karoserija i 'stangov motor), ce svakako isprasiti mnoge "cistokrvne" Camaro-e i Mustange.

Svidelo se to tebi ili ne, ali ovakve kombinacije obicno hebu kevu. Nije neko eto tako iz cista mira roknuo Fordov motor u Camaro, vec je imao nesto drugo u planu, a to su performanse. Ako taj motor lezi dobro first gen. Camaro-u i ako je izracunao da ce ovakav combo ostvariti bolje performanse nego recimo sa Chevy-jevim 350cid, onda zasto da ne?
Evo jednog modela kojeg su die-hard Pontiac fanovi smatrali blasfemijom, a onda kad ga je Andrew Borodin isterao na stazu i pokazao sta je sve automobil u stanju da uradi, ljudi su zanemeli...
U pitanju je '70 GTO sa Chevroletovim "strokovanim" 502cid. "rat" motorom.
GTO sa Chevy motorom je druga stvar jer i Pontiac i Chevrolet pripadaju General Motorsu tako da je to ista kompanija.
Meni nikada nebi smetao Ford sa Mercury ili Lincoln motorom jer su to iste kompanije. Jedan tip sa jednog Mustang foruma koji posecujem ima 1976 Mustang Cobra II sa 302 cid (5.0L) iz Lincoln Town Car. Dobija samo pohvale za auto.
GTO sa Chevy motorom je druga stvar jer i Pontiac i Chevrolet pripadaju General Motorsu tako da je to ista kompanija.
Da, ali znas kakvi su die hard fanovi, cim stavis nesto sto nije u originalu predvidjeno za taj automobil, oni p*opizde. Verovali ili ne, ali Andrew Borodin je svojevremeno dobijao dosta "heat-a" zbog Camarovog motora u GTO. Pogotovo zato sto je auto u originalu bio 455 big block.
Inace, ti swapovi danas nisu nista novo. Evo ti ga '89 Mustang sa LS1-om:
Da si bacio paznju na tekst video bi da ovaj Camaro uopste nije pravljen za 400 metara, vec za stazu. Takodje pise da je isti Camaro zvizdao i preko 190mph, sto iskreno sumnjam da tvoj 3000GT moze.
Btw. Stock '70 HEMI Challenger je sa matorom 4-stepenom transmisijom bio u stanju da ide 150+ mph. Superbird i Charger Daytona su sa istim 4-stepenim transmisijama isli 200 mph.

Drago mi je da vidim da su se Holman-Moody vratili na scenu. Legendarni '64 Fairlane se vraca, ovaj put na ulicu, sa modernim street trim paketom opreme i jos zavidnijim performansama nego u originalnom pakovanju.

PowertrainEngine: The 427 Ford uses an original block with a Moldex crank, Eagle rods, Wiseco pistons, and Edelbrock heads. A pair of Holley 750s sit on top of an original Holman Moody dual-plane intake manifold.
Performance: The engine makes 495 hp at 6,400 rpm and 453 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. The torque is the key in road racing, and this one makes 430 lb-ft at 3,500, 452 at 4,200, and 430 at 6,000.
Transmission: A road-race Jerico four-speed is connected to the big-block with a multiple-disc clutch.
Rearend: It's a NASCAR-spec Ford 9-inch with 3.50 gears and a Detroit Locker.
ChassisFrame: The unibody is stock with bracing added to support the big-block. The rollcage helps complete the racing package.
Suspension: The front suspension uses tubular control arms with the coil springs relocated to the lower arm. Pro Racing shocks are tied to the rollcage, and weight jackers provide adjustability.
Brakes: The rules prohibit big, modern brakes, so the front uses 12-inch Ford rotors and four-piston calipers from a '60s T-bird, and the rears are stock Ford drums.
Wheels: The 15x10 Bassett stock car wheels are the only choice for the Stock Car Vibe.
Tires: They're Dunlop semi-rain tires, spec rubber for the European series the first new/old Fairlane runs in
StyleBody: The body shape is all stock, but the entire front end is fiberglass, including the bumper.
Paint: Corinthian White is an original '64 Ford color, the same the Fireball Roberts car was painted.
Interior: Race-car stuff only here. 'Cage, aluminum seat, bare floor, and minimalist gauges and switches.
